St. Lucia Estuary jellies : These jellies were collected by Nicola Carrasco of the University of Kwazulu-Natal. They are a few millimeter in diameter. Coloration is due to fixation procedure. Both hypothesized “types” were collected in the St. Lucia Estuary during the closed phase and have not been found since. Please see specific photos for further information on the environmental conditions during collection.

Florida : I lived in St. Petersburg FL for four years, all of which were spent at Eckerd College. Most of these pictures were taken on campus. Sorry there are so few. I took thousands of pics but in the process of moving to Africa decided to only take a few on a thumb drive.

Your Bio

I am a recent college graduate and soon-to-be graduate student. Over the past three years I have been continually impressed and inspired by SmugMugers and have decided that it’s time I seek some advice and upload some pics.

The nitty gritty:

My cameras:
I own a Canon S5 IS (point-and-shoot) and a Nikon D80.

Photos in all but the “For Dgrin” gallery were taken with a Canon S5 IS. Some of the photos in the “For Dgrin” gallery were taken with my (new!!!) Nikon D80. I expect more on the way :)

My background:
I have a degree in Marine Science from Eckerd College in Florida. I grew up in Arizona and began taking pics for fun about 3 years ago.

My intentions:
Regrettably, I am self-taught in terms of photography. SmugMuggers have unknowingly been my gurus over the past few years. When time and bandwidth permits, I will be uploading my photos and also hope to make comments on pictures taken by fellow SmugMuggers.
